Delete Your RaceLyx Account

This page explains how to request deletion of your RaceLyx account and the data associated with it. RaceLyx is a race timing and management platform operated at racelyx.com, including the RaceLyx mobile app.
Delete specific data without closing your account
You don't have to delete your whole account to remove data. You can ask us to delete just part of it and keep your RaceLyx account active. Common requests:
- Remove specific race results or sessions linked to your name.
- Clear your driver profile (car number, class, team, biography, avatar).
- Turn off and delete push notification subscriptions.
- Delete online pre-registration entries.
How to request partial deletion
Email [email protected] from the email address on your account, list the data you want removed, and we'll process it within 30 days. Your account stays open. You can also edit or clear most profile fields yourself under Settings → Profile at racelyx.com.
Note: all race session data is automatically deleted 90 days after the session regardless of any request. Race data stored only on your device in the mobile app is removed when you uninstall the app or clear its storage. Records we are legally required to keep (e.g. minimal billing records for tax) are described under "What is kept" below.
Delete your entire account
Choose whichever is easiest. Both fully delete your account:
In your account settings (fastest)
Sign in at racelyx.com, open Settings → Account, and choose Request Account Deletion. Confirm when prompted.
By email
Email [email protected] from the email address on your account, with the subject "Delete my account." We use the sending address to verify ownership before we act on the request.
After you submit a request we send a confirmation and begin a 7-day cancellation window, during which you can cancel the deletion by replying to that email or from your account settings. Once the window passes, deletion is permanent and cannot be undone.
Removing data stored only on your device
The RaceLyx mobile app can run races without an account. Races, lap times, and settings created this way are stored only on your device and are never sent to us. To erase them, uninstall the app or clear its storage (Android: Settings → Apps → RaceLyx → Storage → Clear storage). This removes all local race data immediately.
What is deleted
When your request is processed, we permanently delete:
- Your account credentials: email address, display name, and password hash.
- Your driver profile: car number, race class, team name, biography, and avatar.
- Hardware IDs / device fingerprints tied to your license.
- Push notification subscriptions (endpoints and keys).
- Online pre-registration entries linked to your account.
- Your license and subscription records within our systems.
What is kept, and for how long
- Published race results: Lap times and finishing positions from public events run by a track operator are part of that event's public record. On deletion we de-link them from your account and anonymize your name. All race session data is automatically purged 90 days after the session regardless. To remove specific results sooner, note them in your request.
- Transaction records: If you made a purchase, minimal billing records (not payment card data, which we never store) may be retained where required by tax and accounting law, typically up to 7 years.
- Encrypted backups: Residual copies in routine backups are overwritten on our normal rotation and fully purged within 30 days.
- Compliance logs: A minimal record that a deletion request was made and fulfilled is retained to demonstrate compliance; it does not contain your profile data.
How long it takes
Requests are acknowledged promptly, held for the 7-day cancellation window, and fully processed within 30 days, as required by GDPR and comparable laws. If you don't receive a confirmation, email [email protected].
