Install RaceLyx and sign in

Download RaceLyx for Windows from racelyx.com, install it, and sign in or create your account to start the 21-day free trial. No credit card needed.

RaceLyx is a Windows program you install on the computer at your timing desk. The first time it opens it asks you to sign in with a RaceLyx account, or make one. A new account gets a 21-day free trial of every paid feature, with no credit card.

Before you start

  • A Windows 10 or newer, 64-bit PC with about 500 MB free.
  • An email address you can open, to verify your account.

Step by step

    Download RaceLyx from racelyx.com

    The Download button in the top bar of racelyx.com fetches the latest Windows installer. RaceLyx needs Windows 10 or newer, 64-bit. Accept the prompts and RaceLyx opens when it finishes.

    The sign-in screen

    The welcome screen shows "Welcome back" and "Sign in to start your timing session." You only need to sign in once per computer; RaceLyx remembers you.

    New here? Create an account

    The Create your account form asks for first name, last name, email and a password twice. It says "Free for 21 days. No credit card needed." Your trial starts when you verify your email.

    Verify your email

    RaceLyx shows "Check your inbox to verify your email." Open the email, click the link, then press Go to sign in. If a code is asked for, type the six digits and press Verify Email.

    Sign in with RaceLyx

    The window is titled "Sign in to RaceLyx". While it is open the button reads "Waiting for sign-in…" with a Cancel link. When you finish, RaceLyx checks your licence and opens the first-run setup.

    Your trial starts

    The trial banner reads "Trial: N days remaining". It turns red in the last three days. When the trial ends, timing keeps working on the free plan with a smaller driver limit.

Tips

  • The Download button on racelyx.com always gives you the newest version.
  • RaceLyx keeps working offline after you sign in, so a race night without internet is fine.
  • Your licence runs on up to 3 computers at once. Release an old PC from Settings, Account Security, Licensed computers.

Troubleshooting

The sign-in window never appears.
It opens as a small window titled "Sign in to RaceLyx" on top of the app. Check behind other windows, or press Cancel and try Sign in with RaceLyx again.
It says "Signed in, but the licence server rejected the session."
Your password is fine. Press Retry. If it keeps happening, press Sign out, sign in again, and send the error text to support.
I never got the verification email.
Check your spam folder, then use "Didn't receive the code? Resend".
