Penalties, DNF and DSQ

Give a time or lap penalty, mark a broken car DNF, or disqualify a driver from the live table. Reinstate undoes it.

We are recording this one now. It will play right here when it is ready.

Every driver row has a penalties button. Add seconds, add or take off a lap, or mark DNF or DSQ. Every change is written to the audit log.

Before you start

  • A heat running or finished, not yet saved.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open a driver's penalties

The icon is Penalties & Overrides. A row of buttons opens under the driver.

  2. 2

    Time penalty

The time is added to their classification. A +5s chip shows on their row.

  3. 3

    Lap penalty

Use these for a missed read or a cut track.

  4. 4

    DNF or DSQ

DNF drivers stay in the results behind finishers. DSQ drivers are placed last.

Tips

  • DNS is automatic: a car that never crosses is DNS. There is no DNS button.
  • A car with no laps for a while shows Broken?, a hint to mark it DNF.
  • Jump start detection offers +5s, +10s or DSQ for a car that crossed before green.
  • You can also penalise a saved result later from Results.

Troubleshooting

I gave the penalty to the wrong driver.
Take it off from the same menu: use -1 Lap to undo +1 Lap, or Reinstate after DNF or DSQ.
