If laps stop coming in, RaceLyx usually knows why. The health line under the decoder card says whether the decoder is silent, sending heartbeats only, or sending data it cannot read.

Before you start

  • The decoder powered on.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Check the header chip

Click it to open Timing Hardware.

  2. 2

    Read the health line

Silent, heartbeats only, or unreadable data.

  3. 3

    USB driver

    CP2102 / CP2104, CH340 / CH341, FTDI FT232 or Prolific PL2303.

  4. 4

    Reconnect

    "Reconnected to" your decoder.

Tips

  • "No data from the decoder yet": check power and the cable.
  • "Sending data RaceLyx cannot read": wrong port or the decoder is in the wrong output mode.
  • "Talking (heartbeats OK). No cars have crossed": the decoder is fine; check the loop and transponders.
  • F5 refreshes decoders.

Troubleshooting

No COM port appears.
Install the USB driver for your cable: CP2102, CH340, FTDI or Prolific, from "Device not showing up?".
It keeps saying Reconnecting.
The USB cable or port is loose. Try another USB port, not a hub.
