Mains are the final races that decide the finishing order. Set how many cars run in each main, how long they are, and whether the top finishers of each lower main bump up to the next.

Before you start

  • An event, new or open with Edit Event.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Open Mains

Mains start every car on the same clock.

  2. 2

    Time or laps

Time: each main runs a set number of minutes. Laps: the leader takes the checkered flag at a set lap count. Leave a lap box empty and that main runs the same laps as the one above.

  3. 3

    Cars per race and length

Cars per Race is the main size. Tick Run the A Main for a different length to give the A Main its own duration.

  4. 4

    Bump-ups

The top finishers from each lower main bump up into the next higher main. Two is common.

  5. 5

    Mains Preview

The preview shows each main bottom-up, with the bump-up slots marked.

  6. 6

    Save Changes

Mains not yet run pick up the new length.

Tips

  • Mains end by Laps gives the leader a checkered flag at a set lap count; everyone else finishes the lap they are on.
  • Run the A Main for a different length gives the A its own duration.
  • Mains Preview shows the race order for any number of drivers, so you can check before race day.

Troubleshooting

"Bump-ups must be less than cars per race".
Lower How many advance per main, or raise Cars per Race.
