Qualifying decides who starts where in the mains. Set how many rounds you run, how long each heat is, how many cars go out together, and how a driver's rounds are counted.
Before you start
- An event, new or open with Edit Event.
Step by step
- 1
Open Qualifying
The same settings are on the Qualifying step of a new event. Edit Event changes the event as it runs.
- 2
Start from a rule set
IFMAR: best consecutive laps, drop the worst round, ladder mains with bump-ups. ROAR: best consecutive laps, every round counts, ladder mains with bump-ups.
- 3
Rounds, length, cars per heat
Cars per Heat is how many cars your track and frequencies can run at once. Five minutes is common for club qualifying.
- 4
Clock mode
Individual Clock gives each driver their own five minutes from their first crossing. Track Clock runs one clock for the whole heat.
- 5
Ranking and best rounds
Timed (Best Consecutive) or Rocket Round. Scoring Style picks Best Consecutive, Most Laps, Best Single Lap or Total Time. Count Best N Rounds decides mains seeding.
- 6
Save Changes
On a running event the changes apply straight away to heats not yet run.
Tips
- IFMAR and ROAR fill in the usual rules in one click. Most clubs run one of them as written.
- Individual Clock times each driver from their own first crossing. Track Clock starts everyone together.
- Count Best N Rounds only changes how the mains are seeded, never the per-round results.
Troubleshooting
- A warning says Track Clock is unusual.
- With one car per heat, Individual Clock is almost always what you want.
