If you stream your races, RaceLyx overlays put live timing on the video. Each overlay is a web address you add to OBS as a Browser source.

Before you start

  • The display server running.
  • OBS on this PC or the same network.

Step by step

  1. 1

    OBS overlays tab

"Add as a browser source in OBS".

  2. 2

    Choose an overlay

Also Minimal, Cycling, Race Card, Intermission and Race Program, plus your own designs.

  3. 3

    Copy the address

The address only shows while the server is running.

  4. 4

    Add it in OBS

    Usually 1920 by 1080.

  5. 5

    Stream delay

Screens at the track are never delayed.

Tips

  • Set the browser source size to match your canvas, usually 1920 x 1080.
  • Overlays running ahead of the camera? Set Stream delay, then copy the address again. Or add ?delay=3 to the end.
  • The start countdown shows in the overlays' pre-start view.
  • Design your own with the Overlay Designer.

Troubleshooting

The overlay is blank in OBS.
Start the display server, and check the address port matches (8081 if 8080 was taken).
