Each class can carry its own timing and race settings. They are used when a class has its own heats, and they pre-fill Event Setup. Most clubs set them once and leave them.

Before you start

  • At least one class.

Step by step

  1. 1

    Edit a class

The pencil is "Edit class". The Edit Class form opens with the name, colour and sort order.

  2. 2

    Show the race settings

The timing settings are tucked away because most clubs only set them once.

  3. 3

    Qualifying

Qualifying Format is Timed (Best Consecutive), Rocket Round or Best Single Run. Qual Duration is in minutes. Qual Rounds is how many rounds you plan to run.

  4. 4

    Mains and heat size

Main Duration is in minutes. Cars per Heat is how many cars your track can run at once, often 8 to 10 on a club track. Leave it empty to use the event's Cars per Heat.

  5. 5

    Bump-ups and finishing laps

Bump-Ups moves the top finishers of each lower main into the next main up. Allow Laps After Time is usually Finish Current Lap, so everyone takes the flag.

  6. 6

    Update Class

Events created from now on start with these numbers. A running event picks up a new main length for mains not yet run.

Tips

  • Leave Min Lap at 3000 ms. It only stops double reads. Raising it toward a real lap time merges real laps.
  • Changing Main Duration on a class mid-event re-times that class's mains that have not run yet.
  • Bump-Ups "Use the event setting" lets each event decide.

Troubleshooting

Two laps became one.
Min Lap (ms) is set too high. Put it back to 3000.
The class uses a different heat size from the event.
Cars per Heat on the class wins. Empty it to use the event's Cars per Heat.
